Not only did the GMA Network’s main channel is dominating the rating leaderboard, but also its subsidiaries.
During the Network’s annual shareholder’s meeting, its Chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon proudly declared dominance of GMA Network, GTV, and Hear of Asia channels in terms of ratings and reach.
Using the most recent data from AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey, the Kapuso network took pride in its win in ratings, scoring 54% audience share. Gozon also noted that its current main rival TV5 is significantly defeated with only 7% rating for the same survey period.
In one of his statements, he also flaunted the Network’s victory over ABS-CBN even before the latter’s shutdown in May 2020.
According to Gozon, the Kapuso network is already ahead of ABS-CBN, 33.8% to 30.2% from January to May 2020.
Gozon bannered 2020 as the Kapuso network’s best year ever, although it was the year that the Network is technically un-opposed with the shutdown of its rival ABS-CBN.
“2020 as GMA Network’s 70th year in the broadcast industry and what a memorable year that was.. (It) was by far, our best year in our history.”
Aside from the main channel, Kapuso also scored its win for the subsidiary GTV or Good TV, which was formerly known as GMA News TV.
GTV ranked second most-watch channel registering 7.4% ratings also based on the most recent data from AGB Nielsen NUTAM ratings.
Meanwhile, GMA Network’s digital channel Heart of Asia (HOA) also topped the leaderboard placing fifth among TV networks with a rating score of 4.9%.
