FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano keeps its record-breaking streak, as its concurrent viewers online hit third major milestone in a month.
Characters aren’t the only ones being replaced in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, but also the five-year-old show’s concurrent viewership record on Kapamilya Online Live. The Coco Martin-starrer, set yet another record, in terms of concurrent live viewers, last night, May 18.
Featuring events that track Cardo Dalisay’s bid to both escapes the Black Ops and to avenge Alyana’s death, the show has been steadily gaining better viewership on Youtube, in the past few weeks. It has recently broken PBB Connect’s record, when the reality show’s concurrent live viewers, reached more than 110,000 on Youtube. Before that, it first broke its record in January, when Yassi Pressman’s character, Alyana Dalisay, was booted out of the show. The death scene drew around 102,000 concurrent live viewers on the Kapamilya Online Live. That record was obliterated by the May 6 episode, which made more than 107,000 concurrent viewers tuned in to Kapamilya Online Live.
New characters were introduced to the plot late last week, including Enzo Pineda and Paulo Angeles, who play new Black Ops officers who are set to join the pursuit after Dalisay. The new developments in the plot, also allowed the return of Christian Vasquez (who first appeared on the show in 2016), but with another character. Vasquez plays the lawyer father of Police Captain Lia Mante (Jane de Leon) who is currently being held hostage by Dalisay.
Back at Lito Valmoria’s bailiwick, things are getting intense as the Task Force Aguila are confronted with Aling Virgie (Sharmaine Buencamino) and Mang Teddy’s (Joel Torre) anger and plan to escape. The episode featured the couple’s failed attempt to get away from Task Force Aguila while the authority they’ve alerted is still on their way to apprehend Dalisay’s group.
Dalisay, on the other hand, has to deal with Lia’s tantrums, and occasional urges to find ways of escaping. Netizens have taken notice of the two characters’ brewing chemistry. De Leon’s entry to the show was first rumored to replace Yassi Pressman’s character, as Dalisay’s new love interest.
Online viewers have seemingly seen the spark, as concurrent viewership finally breached the 117,000-mark, last night, May 18. This is the third time the show, set a new record in a month.
Interestingly, this continuously upward trend in online viewers, coincides with some rumors circulating that suggest the show’s finale, within the year. If words from the grapevine, are true, Coco Martin will be ending the show so he could finally focus on his political pursuit. But let’s see if the show’s record-breaking streak would be enough to convince him to postpone his rumored political plans.
