Kapamilya action-drama teleserye FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is slowly climbing up to the top of the weekday rating board.
From the usual 8th-10th ranking pre-TV5 simulcast, FPJAP has now broken to the 4th spot, just three spots away from reclaiming its former throne.
Based on the latest available data from AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey, the longest-running Kapamilya teleserye made a debut in the number 4 spot on Thursday, May 6. FPJAP scored 10.0% rating on that day overtaking former rank number 4–Owe My Love that registered a rating of 9.7% or a margin of 0.3%.
This is the highest rank that FPJAP reached following the shutdown of ABS-CBN.
Compared to Kapuso shows which enjoyed the same wide reach from its over 50 stations nationwide, FPJAP’s latest feat is a huge victory for the show and more importantly for ABS-CBN given the fact that they aired with a limited reach through the combined 18 stations of A2Z and TV5 only.
Meanwhile, on that day, FPJAP featured an action-packed episode that may have contributed to its rise in ranking.
The episode showcased Cardo’s fight against a group of people who were out to kill the owner of the resthouse they were hiding. Feeling obliged to do something as the group closes into the house, Cardo helped the owner against his attackers.
The owner and his wife however were killed during the gunfight, but with Cardo’s best-known skill, he did let the gunmen go unscathed. He started blazing bullets killing practically all of the gunmen.
Lia (Jane De Leon) however, through the plead of Teban (Mitoy) and Pilar (Giselle Sanchez) also move her way to help and fight alongside Cardo in securing their safety against the group of gunmen.
