After his revelation about his former Eraserheads bandmates, lead vocalist Ely Buendia, who is also a firm critic of the government, realized that more Eraserheads fans are hating him than DDS.
On the Spotify podcast “Wake Up with Jim & Saab”, Buendia recalled his relationship with his ex-bandmates.
He said that they were never friends and never established a close relationship with one another despite their years of togetherness that’s why they disbanded in 2002.
“What fans didn’t know, what the public didn’t know [is] we were never — okay, I don’t want to break any hearts again… We were never close, we were never friends, as in tight friends. That’s why we broke up,” Buendia revealed.
After this controversial remark, he received backlash from Eraserheads fans.
In a deleted tweet, Buendia responded by pointing out that he only revealed the truth about their band. Reminded the fans that it is their music, which most were written by him, that matters.
He then realized that he has more haters who are Eraserheads fans compared to those who are DDS.

Buendia is known to be vocal with his opinions about the government. Previously, he expressed his disappointment with the PhilHealth corruption issue, which he believes will be forgotten soon.
He earned bashers, who are DDS, for being a critic of the administration.
Moreover, Buendia also learned that no matter what your intention is, there will always be people who will misunderstand your statements to fit people’s assumptions.
Lessons from the whole “not friends”
Bruhaha: your statements will be taken out of context to fit people’s prejudices. Never talked shit about anyone during Jim and Saab’s podcast, I can even say I was gracious. But websites need clickbait, and unfortunately people don’t read…— Ely Buendia (@elybuendia9001) May 27, 2021
