During the launch of her Singapore-based restaurant, Alegria Singapura, Kapamilya actress Dimples Romana manifested the bravery of her Kadenang Ginto character, Daniela Mondragon.
In an exclusive interview, Romana said that she got Daniela’s qualities and enabled her to see more of what she can do.
“If there’s anything that I got away from Daniela, it was really more of her fierceness. Medyo naging mas matapang ako in terms of wanting to see what I can do. What else I can do with my life.”
She also attributed Daniela’s courage in opening Alegria Singapura in another country.
“Feeling ko nga dala pa ni Daniela Mondragon itong Alegria kasi kumbaga may tapang ka eh. Imaginine mo, Singapore yun di ba? Pero I trust our business partners. And, I know we’re off to a good start.”
As for the importance of opening up businesses amid the pandemic, Romana said, “If you are able to open up even a small food business, it will really help kahit papaano.”
She added that opening businesses help displaced employees amid the pandemic.
“Maiibsan kahit papaano yung ecosystem natin at the moment na wala pang trabaho. So we were more than willing naman to see how it’s going to work out for us.”
From 2018 to 2020, Romana took on one of the most iconic Kontrabidas in afternoon television from the Kapamilya teleserye Kadenang Ginto.
Recently, Romana and her husband Boyet Ahmee launched Alegria Singapura in Teck Lim Road Singapore. The restaurant offers exquisite fine dining and non-traditional Latin-Asian plates and cuisines with the spirit of Filipino festivity.
