Kadenang Ginto star Danica Ontengco says she’s willing to accept the typecast of a Kontrabida role.
In the media conference for the launch of Squad Plus Batch 3, Ontengco said, “Willing naman po ako, wala naman pong problema sa akin.”
Ontengco revealed that her Kontrabida chops came from her personal experience.
“And, sa pagiging comfortable po, I think nakuha ko lang yung ganon dahil may kapatid ako and lagi kaming nag-aaway.”
However, Ontengco clarified, “Pero di naman po talaga ako masama.”
When asked if she receives negative comments because of her kontrabida roles, Ontengco revealed, “Of course, meron po. Madami po akong nababasa na mga masasama ganyan.”
Ontengco added that she doesn’t let the online comments get to her. Inversely, it even amuses her because people notice her talent as an actress.
“Pero wala naman po sa akin yun. Natutuwa pa nga po ako kasi nakakatawa po. And, ayun po imbis na mainis ako, hindi naman po ako naiinis sa ganon. Mas natutuwa po ako na may comments sila about me. Na napapansin po ako.”
Ontengco portrayed Andrea Brilanntes’ mean-girl friends in Kadenang Ginto, followed by her stint in La Vida Lena.
Now Ontengco joins Squad Plus, Dreamscape Entertainment, and Star Magic’s newest teen barkada. Other Squad Plus members include Keann Johnson, Angelica Lao, Renshi de Guzman, Margaux Montana, and Raven Rigor.
