The beloved children’s classic “Ang Pulubi at ang Prinsesa” starring the young Angelica Panganiban and Camille Prats returns as ABS-CBN Film Restoration brings the digitally restored Star Cinema movie starting May 18 (Tuesday) at 7:30 PM via streaming at the Sagip Pelikula Festival on KTX.ph.

Camille and Angelica play Rosalie and Nikka, two girls born in opposite circumstances—Rosalie is a homeless child searching for her lost mother while Nikka is a rich and spoiled child.

Their lives get entangled as Rosalie saves Nikka from abduction. To express gratitude for her heroic act, Nikka’s mom (Teresa) adopts the less fortunate child. Instead of being thankful to Rosalie, Nikka treats her harshly and insists on kicking her out of their home.

Despite her blessed life, Nikka runs away and lives with Rosalie after her mother marries her long-time boyfriend in hopes of getting her attention. But the tables then turn as Rosalie gives her the cold shoulder as Nikka adjusts to life on the streets.

Will the two set aside their differences and realize the true meaning of friendship and belongingness?

Also starring in the said film are Romnick Sarmenta, Sharmaine Arnaiz, Teresa Loyzaga, Ricardo Cepeda, Emilio Garcia, Eula Valdez, among others.

“Ang Pulubi at ang Prinsesa” was directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng, and co-written with Mari Mariano, based on the story by Mari, Elenna Ongkeko and The Project Development Group.

Catch Camille Prats, Sharmaine Arnaiz, writer Mari Mariano, and director Jerry Lopez Sineneng relive their fond experiences while working on the film in a pre-show before each viewing.

Tickets are now available at http://bit.ly/AngPulubiAtAngPrinsesaOnKTX for only P150.

Aside from “Ang Pulubi at ang Prinsesa,” children today can catch more of Star Cinema’s family hits, such as “Kokey,” “Magic Temple,” “Cedie,” “Hiling,” “Sarah… ang Munting Prinsesa,” and “Ang TV Movie: The Adarna Adventure” on KTX starting May 19 (Wednesday).

ABS-CBN Film Restoration and its Sagip Pelikula project continue to treasure Philippine cinema classics by restoring and remastering films from directors and writers of note for today’s viewers to appreciate. These efforts have earned multiple recognitions from award-giving bodies worldwide, including the prestigious Gold Quill Award given by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and the Gawad Pedro Bucaneg from Unyon ng mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas (UMPIL).
