A year after the franchise expiration of the ABS-CBN corporation which led to the network’s shutdown, actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin has not forgotten a single thing about it.
On an Instagram post, Locsin expressed her healing process in remembrance of the ABS-CBN shutdown last year.
Locsin, on May 06, 2021, shared ten (10) photos and screengrabs from last year’s news wherein the Cease and Desist Order from the National Telecommunications Commission was issued against her home network.
In her post, she wrote “May 5, 2020, saved pictures on my phone.”
A heartfelt poem comes along with the shared photos.
The poem read “Isang taon na ang lumipas.
Pero ang sakit ay hindi lilipas.
Hirap man, pero kailangan pa ring bumangon.
Para sa tao.
Hindi man maintindihan ng iba ang nasa puso,
Patuloy pa rin sa pagbangon.
Hindi susuko at patuloy na lumalaban.
Dahil para sa tao.
Laging para sa tao.”

Her poem which seemed to be a dedication for her home network has assured the netizens that she is indeed slowly healing from the last year’s shutdown.
Though the pain of last year’s shutdown still lingers in her, she will always choose to stand up despite all of the struggles. Her inspiration and priority will always be the public.
Locsin has always stood firm to assert the rights of those who are oppressed hence she does not back out when it comes to voicing out her thoughts.
To recall, Locsin urged unity within the entertainment industry to raise their objections to the ABS-CBN shutdown.
She was among the ABS-CBN employees who participated in a caravan to the House of Representatives to show their support for their network. A vigil was then held in front of the Kapamilya Headquarters in Quezon City after the House Committee on Legislative Franchise decided to shut down the network. She then shared a speech to express her resentment due to the shutdown.
Back then, she continuously made headlines after the ABS-CBN was not granted a new franchise. The network was trying to do its best to renew its franchise since 2014 but things were really tough for them as President Rodrigo Roa Duterte wanted the network to close it down for good.
Recently, Locsin initiated a birthday community pantry in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City. The community pantry turned into a ruckus as 67-year old Rolando Dela Cruz fainted and eventually died while waiting for his turn to receive free food items.
Locsin was sorry over the death of Tatay Rolando. She then took the responsibilities even though the family of the deceased blamed no one for they believe that their father’s death was no one’s fault.
The ABS-CBN stood by Locsin after netizens bombarded her with criticisms. The network, on April 25, shared their statement for the unfortunate event on their Facebook page.
