Kapamilya actress Yam Concepcion recounted how the late singer Claire deal Fuente discovered her as a talent.
In the media conference for the highly-anticipated ABS-CBN Star Creatives’ teleserye, Init sa Magdamag, Concepcion shared to the members of the press how dela Fuente first saw her in Mayonaise’s Sinungaling music video.
Concepcion said that dela Fuente contacted her after seeing the music video.
Then, Concepcion almost broke down because she had a last call for a few minutes from dela Fuente before she passed away.
She also mentioned dela Fuente congratulated her for landing a top-billing role after seeing the trailer for Init sa Magdamag.
“Nakakagulat eh. Sobrang sudden yung nangyari.
“Sabi nya ‘Congratulations’. Four minutes lang yun sa telepono. So sabi ko, ‘Thank you, Tita Claire’.
So iyon, this is for Tita Claire. May her soul rest in peace.”
Dela Fuente passed away at the age of 63 on March 30, 2021. She suffered cardiac arrest brought upon by the anxiety she felt when she contracted COVID-19. The late singer’s situation shed light on the horrific situation in hospitals in the country amid the resurgence of COVID-19 cases.
