Another Kapamilya teleserye has ended with considerably good ratings. On Friday, April 16, Walang Hanggang Palaam aired its finale episode after seven months of airing.
Based on the rating data acquired from AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey, the psychological crime-thriller teleserye scored 5.4% on its last episode.
The finale ranked 12th among the top 20 most-watched weekday programs on that day.
The finale episode is a triumph on its own right as it trailed an upward swing on its rating number getting an increase of 0.2% from its previous day’s score of 5.2% (Thursday, April 15).
Though the teleserye airs only in a limited reach from TV5 and A2Z’s 18 total combined stations nationwide getting a spot in the top 15 rankings is still quite a feat.
Meanwhile, according to its lead actor Paulo Avelino of the show–he does not care so much about the rating given the situation that ABS-CBN is in.
With the Network’s free TV shutdown in May 2020 and the limited reach from its block time airing on TV5 and A2Z, the rating number is a little less significant in the success of a teleserye.
Paulo said since ABS-CBN made sure that their programs will still reach its loyal viewers for free via its digital platforms, their success is now translated on how people reacted online and how they are touched by the programs they are consuming.
“Hindi ako masyadong nakatingin na sa ratings ang sa akin basta kahit may isang taong mapasaya ka, kahit may isang taong mainspire sa ginagawa mo sa storya na na pinapakita namin, sapat na yun, sapat na po yung para sa akin.”
The online viewing for the teleserye’s finale is considered a huge success. It raked more than 567 thousand views for its finale episode as opposed to 41 thousand views of its rival Owe My Love.
