Pasig City mayor Vico Sotto noted that there is no special treatment in implementing the local government’s vaccination program against COVID-19 as his mother, actress Coney Reyes has followed the vaccination process.
According to a Twitter post by Inquirer, Sotto mentioned that although his mother is already a senior citizen and is suffering from comorbidities, she did not receive any special treatment from the Pasig City mayor.
He said that his mother followed the process and filled out the vaccination form just like any other citizen of the city.

“Nanay ko nga mismo hindi pa nababakunahan. 67 years old na nanay ko, may comorbidities din po siya.. Pero walang palakasan, dumaan po sa tamang proceso, Nag-fill up siya ng form. Hinihingi pa nga niya sa ‘kin yung link sabi ko, ‘Ma, tingnan mo na lang sa PIO,” said Sotto.
It can be noted that the special treatment for some people in the vaccination process became an issue after actor Mark Anthony Fernandez got vaccinated for the COVID-19 with the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine.
Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez defended the actor’s vaccination saying that Fernandez has “comorbidities” that made him qualified to be prioritized for COVID-19 vaccines.
Meanwhile, Vico Sotto’s brother LA Mumar also said that they did not receive special consideration from the Pasig City mayor as he and his wife are yet to receive COVID-19 vaccines.

“My mom didn’t skip the line, Vico didn’t skip the line, why would I?” he wrote in his Instagram story.
“[Ang] sabi ok lang ‘yan kasi life and death daw? So what? Shouldn’t we hold on to our values more, when things are difficult? What will I tell my children? It’s ok to do something illegal because it’s convenient?” he added.
“I’m not a Mayor like my bro, but we can do our part and choose what is right. One person, one family at a time,”
“THERE IS HOPE FOR OUR COUNTRY!!!”
Mayor Vico Sotto is known for showing great service to the public. He was recently recognized by lifestyle publication People Asia as this year’s “People of the Year” along with Leni Robredo and other public officials.
He bagged the title “People’s Choice” awardee after being voted by the magazine’s readers.
