Vice Ganda let out double entendre jokes on the territorial dispute in the West Philippine Sea and COVID-19 pandemic during It’s Showtime.
On Friday, he and Vhong Navarro had a mini-history quiz where both get to ask several questions.
He asked Vhong questions about the national hero Jose Rizal, Magellan, and other important historical facts.
At first, the mini-quiz was serious until Vice decided to quip about China’s territorial invasion.
He asked Vhong, “Who discovered China?”
The latter then admitted that he doesn’t know the answer.
Laughter burst out when Vice jested that it was Chiara Zambrano who discovered China.
“Si Chiara Zambrano ang nakadiscover na ang China pala ay malapit na sa Palawan, nasa Julian Felipe reef na pala sila nakakita,” Vice quipped.

ABS-CBN correspondent Zambrano, together with her team, bravely rushed to the Ayungin Shoal to confirm the reports that Chinese vessels gathered in the area. They were even driven away by these Chinese upon realizing their presence.
He then asked about the number of sun rays in our flag. Vhong replied that it is eight.
Though it is correct, the comedian jested that they should check first to ensure that China did not take it.
“Iche-check natin kasi baka kinuha nanaman ng China yung isa, pito nalang ngayon.
“Dati kasi walo, kaso ‘di natin alam baka nahiram nanaman ng China. Kailangan ina-account every now and then kasi nagkakawalaan.”
He then asked a follow-up question, “Ano ang sinasagisag ng walong sinag ng araw?”
(What do these eight rays represent?)
Historically, these sun rays represent the first eight provinces that revolted against the Spaniards. But that was before because Vice quipped that these sun rays now represent the different community quarantine classifications.
“ECQ, EECQ, GCQ, MCQ, EQ with Huggies and diaper, ECQ with Gingko Biloba, ECQ with Glutathione and Silymarin extract, and MCQ plus plus plus NCR plus,” Vice again quipped.

These different classifications, confuse the people. As NCR plus bubble area return to stricter quarantine measures, people needed to review the implementing rules and regulations of their current quarantine classification.
Vice continued to ask about the symbolism of the three stars in the flag. He said that before, those represent the three biggest islands in the country. But those stars now represent the three COVID-19 severity.
“Ngayon, asymptomatic, mild, severe, yun na yung tatlo.
“Pinapaligiran na niya kasi yung walong probinsya kaya yun.”
He also asked about the different colors of the flag.
Traditionally, it is believed that if the red portion of the flag was raised above the blue part, it signifies war and peace if the other way around.
But the comedian-host said that the two colors represent the ABS-CBN supporters and DDS.
“Yung dalawang kulay na yun nagaaway, pro-ABS-CBN and DDS,” he jested.
Vice also made fun that it was ‘Vaccine Magalona’ who discovered the vaccine. He also asked who is the dictator of the country but, nobody dared to answer.
Through the comedian’s joke, there is hope that it will not only bring entertainment to the viewers but also awareness about the current happenings in the country.
