Markus Paterson and Janella Salvador called out several Netizens who poked fun of their five-month-old son, Jude Trevor on social media.
The young celebrity couple, like any other parents who are always on the lookout for ways to protect their children, took to social media to publicly denounce the acts and share screenshots of the post.
On Wednesday morning, April 7, Paterson posted on his twitter page some screenshots of Netizens making fun of their newborn son’s appearance.
It turned out that the bashing stemmed from a Netizen after actress Erich Gonzales uploaded photos with Jude on her facebook on March 30, the day she visited Salvador.
The Netizen shared Gonzales’s photos while carrying the child of the couple and commented, “Jusko po panginoong mahabagin bat ganyan ang mukha ng batang yan.”
Others who seemed to know the Netizen then laughed and added more negative responses to the remark. It was even followed by a comment, swiping at the couple as being “sinners.”
In his caption, the 22-year-old singer-actor said that he did not cover the bashers’ names and faces on purpose, sending them a warning.
“Let’s be honest. I’m no stranger to bashing. But come for my son and I will come for you. People like this make me sick, wala pang isang taon anak ko and ya’ll making fun of a NEWBORN. Not gonna erase the names, proud nyo eh,” he wrote.

In the succeeding tweet, Paterson shared another post of a certain Netizen who, this time making fun of their baby’s weight.
“Tanga ka kasi hindi mo pa turuan pano umihi mag isa tignan mo naman kalaki laki ng anak mong damulag,” the Netizen commented.
The young actor wrote that he only wished the bashers happiness and hinted that he would check them out one day because he already had their names.
“For the people in this post, I have no words other than I hope you someday find the happiness you need to fulfill that hole in your hearts. Maybe one day I can check on you all, since I have your names,” he said.

Shortly after, Salvador also expressed her displeasure with the offensive comments targeted at her innocent son.
In a separate tweet, she addressed the issue by showing the Netizen’s Facebook profile and questioning his sense of humor.
“Your humor must be really fucked up to make fun of a baby. I can take all the bashing in the world directed at me with grace, but direct it at my innocent son and you’ll definitely hear from me. PS you sure about making fun of Jude’s face? You sure, bud? Sure na? Yikes. Ayt,” she wrote.

Late afternoon of that same day, Salvador updated on her earlier tweet that the Netizen, his mother, and others who commented on his post have personally apologized to them.
She added that they acknowledged their apologies, but she hoped that what happened would encourage them to be more responsible on social media.
Update: Gabriel, his mother, and some of the people who commented on his post apologized to us personally. We do accept their apology, however, I hope this is a lesson learned for them to be responsible and kind on social media.

However, the issue did not end there. Salvador and Paterson shared more screenshots on their twitter, expressing their disbelief in people who continue to insult their baby. Salvador made it clear to the public that she is prepared to stand up for herself and her child.
“I don’t want any more negativity on my page but I am in disbelief at how cruel people can really be. These were sent to us today as well. I just want you to know that I am prepared to do what is right by me and my son,” Salvador tweeted.
“The sad thing is, these people will cry about it claiming they’re sorry. If you weren’t caught would you have been sorry? Hindi lang yun. 5 months old na bata. 5 MONTHS OLD,” Paterson tweeted.

In their respective accounts, the couple also shared the Netizen’s apology letter. The Netizen said that he would be more mindful of his actions now that he has realized that attacking a five-month-old baby was demeaning and should not be tolerated.
He also expressed regret for hurting a lot of people, especially Jude’s parents.

Proof that people really don’t know how to self-evaluate.

Salvador and Paterson then posted their final tweet regarding the issue.
Paterson said he isn’t usually outspoken, particularly when it comes to bashing, but when it comes to his son, he is willing to go to any length to protect him, even if it means taking a bullet.
“I’m not usually this vocal, especially about bashing. But my son is a different story, my baby boy is my flesh and blood and I would take a bullet for him. I thought I’d seen it all, but hating on a newborn baby has truly shocked me. Imagine if it was your child?”

Salvador, on the other hand, believed that people should learn from their mistakes and be ready for the consequences because social media platforms, freedom of speech, and having an opinion do not give them the right to be rude.
“Social media, freedom of speech and having your own opinion DO NOT give you the right to be rude or to cyber-bully. Some of you really need to learn your lesson so be ready for your consequences. This is going to be my final tweet about the issue.”

Janella Salvador and Markus Paterson introduced their son, Jude Trevor, via a video posted on their joint YouTube account on Tuesday, January 5, after confirming their relationship in September 2020.
The couple welcomed Jude on October 20, 2020, in the United Kingdom.
The 27-minute vlog chronicled their journey as first-time parents from prenatal to checkups to the gender reveal and eventually giving birth.
After the actress gave birth to Jude and spent five months raising her firstborn in the UK, the couple returned to the Philippines in February.
Reports about their budding romance started back in 2019. But it wasn’t until September 2020 that they made their relationship public through their respective social media accounts.
Pregnancy rumors also hounded the couple, but they remained silent – even after Salvador flew to the UK, where Paterson was staying.
