SM, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, donated mattresses and other essentials such as pillows and linens for isolation wards of COVID-19 patients at the University of the Philippines Diliman and Ateneo de Manila University.
“With the surge of COVID-19 cases, we are one with PRC, ADMU and UP in their efforts to keep the community safe through the opening of these isolation wards. Our collaborative efforts with the Philippine Red Cross are needed now more than ever as we continue the fight against COVID-19,” said SM Supermalls president Steven Tan.
UP and ADMU have turned some of their dormitories and classrooms into isolation wards due to shortage of medical facilities for COVID-19 patients.
The PRC and SM also partners on drive-through facilities for its saliva RT-PCR testing centers, which has resulted in over 20,000 individuals tested for Covid-19 around the country to date.
SM has also launched a multi-mall COVID-19 vaccination program together with various LGUs to provide safe and spacious vaccination venues and help curb the spread of the virus.
