Despite winning at last year’s MMFF (Metro Manila Film Festival), actress Charlie Dizon is still willing to learn more.
As Star Magic announced the opening of its online workshops, the 25-year-old actress shared her personal experience and learning while taking the class headed by Direk Rahyan Carlos.
According to the actress, the workshop spearheaded by Star Magic gave her the breakthrough she needed. Although she took a long time getting recognized, because of the workshop, she got the tools needed to emerge as a remarkable artist.
As in yun yung first time kong nag-workshop sa acting,” said Charlie during Star Magic Workshops Virtual Presscon last April 14.
And because of Direk Rahyan’s teaching, Dizon won MMFF 2020’s Best Actress and also Push Breakthrough Star of 2020 during the PUSH Awards.
Notwithstanding the achievements she received, Dizon revealed that she still wants to enroll in acting workshops. Dizon even admitted that in every project she is working on, she regularly makes sure to enter an acting class.
Pero actually may gagawin akong teleserye, nag-workshop ako,” said Dizon.
“Yun kasi ang lagi kong iniisip. Na kada project, since bago siya, kailangan talaga ng workshop para nawa-warm up ulit.”
The reason why she loves acting classes is that it gives her room for mistakes. And when it’s time to work, she will not commit any of it.
“Kasi not all the time nabibigyan ka ng chance na makapag-praktis. And yun ‘yung goal ko na sana hindi ako masyadong magkamali sa work,” she added.
In Star Magic’s workshop, Dizon realized that it served as her therapy. The actress said that this kind of class allows her to free herself.
“For me, yung workshop naging therapy siya.
Dizon also revealed the importance of acting seminars. And that is getting to know one’s self better.
Particularly in acting workshops, Dizon shared that it helped her discover what she wanted. More than that, her slow start in the showbiz industry became her inspiration to strive harder.
Other than it helped her discover herself, Dizon also shared her learnings during her Star Magic class.
Natuturo din sa workshop of course ‘yung discipline and professionalism,” shared Dizon.
Her winning the Best Actress award for the film Fan Girl, she opened about the learning that helped her bag the award. According to the actress, she learned to surpass her limits.
Dizon also did what Direk Rahyan told her, she “jumped the cliff.”
“Natutunan dun unang-una is discipline.
With Star Magic helping her win not just one but two awards in a single year, Dizon encouraged other aspiring artists to take the same path as her.
Star Magic is back with its online workshop this 2021. The talent arm of ABS-CBN offers classes for acting, dancing, voice, and conversational Tagalog. It will be headed by Star Magic Artist Training and Workshop head, Direk Rahyan Carlos.
