Following the tragedy during Angel Locsin’s birthday-cum-community pantry, fellow celebrities extended their sympathy to the actress who is now dealing with the death of Ronaldo dela Cruz.
Dela Cruz, 67, was among the many who stood in line for Locsin’s community pantry, which opened today, April 23.
However, while waiting for his turn, he fainted. He was rushed over to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
This tragedy struck the actress-philanthropist as she took responsibility for the death of a poor man. She apologized countless times for what happened.
With Angel showing how vulnerable she was because of what happened, her colleagues in showbiz have expressed their sympathy.
“Mars, we love you. The Lord knows your heart. We know it. We love you very much,” wrote actress Dimples Romana.
Dimples also expressed her sympathy to the bereaved family.
“Praying for Tatay and his family. Our family rosaries will be for you and Tatay’s family,” she added.
Vice Ganda said, “God sees your beautiful heart and its pure intentions. Mahigpit na yakap Gel! We will pray for Tatay and his family,”
“Yakap ng mahigpit, Gel!” wrote actress Bea Alonzo.
“We love you darna!” actor Alex Medina said.
Singer-theater actress Rachelle Ann Go expressed her sympathy, “Praying with you.”
“We know your heart and that your intentions are good. Praying for Tatay and his family. Mahigpit na yakap sa inyong lahat,” echoed Iza Calzado.
Meanwhile, actress Liza Soberano urged Angel not to blame herself. She pointed that no one wanted the tragedy to happen.
“You don’t need to say sorry ate dahil hindi mo naman ginusto ang mga nangyari. We will be praying for tatay’s soul, for his family who is mourning, and for your good health and peace of mind.”
Talent manager and actor Ogie Diaz likewise cheered up Angel. Ogie then stressed that it was not Angel’s fault. Moreover, he highlighted that it was inevitable for Dela Cruz was the harbinger of the public’s message to the government.
“Di mo kasalanan. Kasalanan yan ng sitwasyon. At nakatakdang magbuwis ng buhay si tatay para maiparating ang mensahe sa taumbayan at gobyerno.”
Jennifer Fosano, the daughter of the deceased during an interview did not express any remorse toward Angel. She blamed the people for not being disciplined instead.
“Di naman niya kasalanan. Yung mga tao naman po talaga yung walang disiplina eh,” said Fosano.
Fosano, regretted the early passing of her father but thanked the likes of Locsin, who have organized community pantries all over the Philippines. She also thanked the actress for staying by their side in the hospital.
“Salamat kasi may nagbibigay sa ganyan. Salamat kasi hindi niya kami pinabayaan sa hospital,” she added.
According to Fosano, the actress did try to find the family of Dela Cruz. When she found out that they were on East Avenue, she and her fiancé, Neil Arce, immediately rushed to the hospital.
Fosano’s sister even relayed to her that the actress was really crying during that time.
“Nung nalaman niyang nahimatay tatay ko, hindi niya alam kung saan niya kami kokontakin. Pero nung nakita niya sa facebook na kami ay nasa East Avenue, pinuntahan niya kami kaagad kasama ang asawa niya. Iyak daw nang iyak sabi ng kapatid ko,” shared Fosano.
Angel will also shoulder the expenses of Dela Cruz’s family.
“Tapos pag naiburol na daw babalik daw siya. Wala kaming ginastos. Sinagot niya lahat. Kahit hindi niya kasalanan sinagot niya pa rin. At nagpapasalamat rin kami kay Angel Locsin,” she repeated.
Locsin said on her social media accounts, she will prioritize and take responsibility for the family left by Dela Cruz.
