Lenovo Philippines launches the Lenovo Thinkpad X13. Lenovo defines the ThinkPads as reliability, a formula to a perfect balance laptop. It is small, but there’s power in its portability and performance.
DESIGN AND LOOK.
Looking at the ThinkPad X13, it is shiny and professionally well-built with a compact form factor. The 13-inch body is not heavy, weighing 2.84 pounds. It is so light to carry every day.
A type c power adaptor, USB and HDMI ports, headphone jack slot are located on its left side. One can find a smart card reader, another USB port, and a Kingston lock on its right side. At the back, there is a sim card tray where one can put a sim card for mobile data connectivity purposes.
Opening the laptop, the ThinkPad’s keyboard is smaller than a full-sized laptop keyboard. Keys are evenly spaced. FN key is placed on the lower left and takes some adjustment on getting used to it. Keypress provides nice responses and feedback.
It has also a satisfying mouse pad below and a fingerprint sensor for unlocking and other security purposes.
PERFORMANCE, SOUND, AND BATTERY.
This model is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650u with an 8GB DDR4 RAM, and 256GB PCIE SSD Storage. For me, it is not yet the most powerful configuration, but one can’t complain as it goes well with the heavier tasks. The 12 threads and 6 cores of the chipset with an impressive integrated graphics processor carry the task and rendition.
For everyday use or office work, the X13 will be a breeze as it has more enough power for one’s daily task. As for gaming, X13 also performed quite well with its integrated graphics of Ryzen. Most graphical settings are on high and it keeps the temperature and fan noise at a manageable level.
As with most laptops you’d expect good speakers, the X13 laptop sound was good. The sound coming from the device was full and richer and doesn’t sound like a tiny source.
The X13 equips with 48wHr battery, in a video loop test–it lasted over 6 hours. It supports 65w USB-C charging that takes almost 2 hours to fully charged.
DISPLAY AND CAMERA.
The laptop has a 13.3 inch 1080P IPS display with an anti-glare panel. The panel exhibits the advantage when working a couple of hours that didn’t cause the usual eyestrain. It is an ideal display for photo and video jobs; one can expect accurate color reproduction. It didn’t show major color shifting on various angles.
Above the display is the front-facing camera provides a decent quality for video meetings and conferences. It has its physical switch to activate for use, which will not hinder and preventing unauthorized access when not in use. A good feature which I think must equip in all laptops.
CONCLUSION/VERDICT.
With its compact design, great display, and extraordinary keyboard that comes packed with a firepower performance. It holds everything you could want and need to do on a laptop. From office work, photo and video editing even gaming, the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 is an all-rounder and enough to get your task done.
PRICE: The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 is available at a starting price of Php54,669.
