With their new project, I Can See You: #Future, KyGel (Kyline Alcantara-Miguel Tanfelix) love team fans see the return of their on-screen partnership.
In the media conference for the anthology series, Alcantara and Tanfelix shared their experiences working on set and thanked their fans for the support.
Alcantara first thanked their fans, appreciating their support. She also noted one of their photos having over 800 thousand likes.
“I’m just really, really happy na nagkaroon kami ng fans ni Miguel together. And, actually nagulat ako sa kanila kasi we have a photo na more than half a million siya, siguro 800 thousand likes na ata siya so nagulat talaga ako,” said Alcantara.
Alcantara then highlighted that she felt happy working with Tanfelix again.
“I’m happy to be working with Miguel again. Because it’s fun to work with him, syempre, we’re familiar na rin with our work etiquette,” said Alcantara.
Tanfelix also thanked their supporters, highlighting that their relationship off-cam translated to their fans.
“Masaya ako na mayroon kaming nabuong supporters namin ni Kyline. KyGel nga tawag nila eh. Ibig sabihin lang nun siguro yung relationship na na build namin, off cam, nagtratranslate siya sa ginagawa namin. So nakikita nilang natural yung lumalabas sa TV. Hindi namin kailangan mag-pretend,” said Tanfelix.
GMA Network teleserye Kambal Karibal introduced the KyGel love team. However, bashers took a swipe at her for allegedly trying to steal Tanfelix from his then on-screen partner, Bianca Umali.
Alcantara admitted having awkwardness towards Tanfelix because of the said issue when they started working together, but she clarifies that they grew closer because of All-Out Sundays.
“At first yes, nagkailangan but alam naman talaga namin kung anong nangyari. Kung ano talaga ‘yung mga hindi nagawa at mga nagawa namin. So, nawala eh, kasi alam naman namin ‘yung totoo. At sa amin na lang ‘yun.
“Feeling ko hindi na mababalik yung dati eh. Mas naging closer ngayon. We grew closer nga because nagkakatrabaho kami sa All-Out Sundays, and then ito pa ngang I Can See You,” said Alcantara.
Alcantara added she’s not ready for a love life at the moment and that she wants to focus on fixing her relationship with God.
“Hindi pa naman ako ready magkaroon ng love life. I’m just really focused on fixing my relationship with God,” said Alcantara.
With the holy week, the two plan to spend it at home with their families.
“At Home po,” said Alcantara.
“At Home. More time para mag-isip. More time para mag-reflect. More time to talk to God, to my family. More time to prepare for the work. Things like that,” said Tanfelix.
As for their dynamic on set, Alcantara shared what she discovered after working with Tanfelix again, noting that the actor was a “deep thinker.”
“Na-discover ko kay Miguel na malalim pala sya mag-isip, at iba siya mag take ng problem o responsibility. Nadiskubre ko kay Miguel na mapang-uto siya,” said Alcantara.
Tanfelix also shared his recent discoveries of the actress, praising her humility.
“Siguro na-discover ko kay [Ky] na very humble siya na tao na talagang tinitignan niya kung saan siya nanggaling. Kung nasaan man siya ‘di niya nakakalimutan ‘yun,” said Tanfelix.
Tanfelix added that he wanted to extend their locked-in filming for the series.
“Actually, nabitin ako, hindi lang sa amin ni Ky, sa buong production. Sa buong cast. Sa character ko. Feeling ko mas may lalalim pang investment ‘yun, eight days sana,” said Tanfelix.
Tanfelix and Alcantara top-bills the newest episodes of the I Can See You: #Future. Alongside them are Aiko Melendez, Gabby Eigenmann, Mikoy Morales, and Dani Porter. Directed by Director Dominic Zapata, I Can See You: #Future airs this April 5, 2021, right after First Yaya on GMA Network.
