Kapamilya network’s newest political-drama teleserye premiered on Monday, April 19. Based on its rating, Init sa Magdamag made a good start.
In the most recent data from AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey, Init sa Magdamag scored a pilot rating of 5.8%. The show’s rating is a big leap compared to its predecessor Walang Hanggang Paalam, which had a daily average rating of 2-3% until its finale episode where it settled at 5.4%.
Also, the teleserye’s first episode made a good showing at the rating leaderboard as it immediately climbed to the number seven spot, just behind fellow Kapamilya teleseryes FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and Huwag Kang Mangamba in 5th and 6th spots, respectively.
Aside from good ratings, Init sa Magdamag also attracted huge online viewers as it reached more than 1.2 million views for its pilot episode; while its rival Owe My Love only got 62 thousand views on the same day.
Meanwhile, for its pilot episode, the Kapamilya teleserye took a peek at the life and characters of Rita (Yam Concepcion) and Tupe (Gerald Anderson). As a working student and breadwinner of their family, Rita takes selling pirated DVDs for a living. Tupe on the other hand, was a rebel son who despised his corrupt engineer father played by Joey Marquez.
The pilot episode also highlighted Rita and Tupe’s first encounter, which led to a confrontation with Rita throwing a rock on Tupe’s motorcycle. Later, the two figured in another confrontation, which led them to the police station where they were detained for several hours because of the pirated DVDs.
But the most intriguing part of its pilot was Rita getting surprised seeing Tupe in her room, which she didn’t know will be her newest roommate.
