GMA Executive Annette Gozon-Valdes fulfilled her promise that GTV will be open to all artists from all production houses or management.
GTV recently announced its newest show titled Love You Stranger, which includes ABS-CBN artists Carmi Martin and Alex Medina in its cast. Aside from them, Alex Diaz first appeared on My Fantastic Pag-ibig as well.
On February 22, GMA News TV was rebranded as GTV.
Though their pilot programs feature Kapuso artists mainly, Gozon assured that viewers will see more non-Kapuso artists or a variety of artists on their channel soon.
“We didn’t create GTV just to be an outlet for artists from GMA and from our Artist Center. We are also open to cast artists from all managers, all production houses.
“So in the future hopefully you’ll be seeing more of these other artists on GTV,” she said.
This appearance of Kapamilya artists on GTV programming is a fulfillment of Gozon’s promise that GTV was not created to feature GMA Network artists alone.
Gozon also said that the main focus of GTV will be programming for the young ones and young-at-heart.
“The difference between GMA and GTV is that we want to really touch the hearts of the young and the young at heart with this channel. Because we feel that the audience is looking for variety and we want to be able to fill that void.
“Of course, limited naman ang air-time ng GMA and maybe they’re also looking for this type of content.”
Amidst the pandemic and with the non-renewal of its rival network, ABS-CBN, GMA Network continues to improve its programming for the viewers.
