Folk Musician Freddie Aguilar aka “Ka Freddie” appealed to President Rodrigo Duterte to ask for help for musicians who lost their jobs.
Ka Freddie added that many musicians and talents have lost their livelihoods and are struggling. Ka Freddie requested that the President focus on the aid for them.
In News5’s Facebook Livestream of President Duterte’s public address, Ka Freddie didn’t hesitate to comment and plead for the musicians that are still not receiving assistance from the government.

This certain comment has caught the attention of netizens who had mixed reactions to Ka Freddie’s plead. A netizen commented that the singer should ‘fall in line’ just like the others who need financial assistance.
Another netizen also cited Ka Freddie as a Diehard Duterte Supporter (DDS) and said that the singer deserves the ‘non VIP treatment’ despite the support that he gave to the President,
Recently, Freddie Aguilar and other notable names in the music and showbiz industry even performed an upcoming online concert dedicated to their “friend,” President Rodrigo Duterte.
“There is nothing wrong with singing for a friend. We have sung for frontliners, for many charities, for affected musicians, and more, now, we just want to sing for our friend.”
The “Singing for the President” concert took place on Aug. 30. Aside from Aguilar, the concert features Jimmy Bondoc, a Diehard Duterte Supporter, as well as Overseas Workers Welfare Administration deputy administrator Mocha Uson, singer and Camarines Sur vice-governor Imelda Papin, Dulce, Arnell Ignacio, and chief presidential legal counsel Salvador Panelo.
In 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte even endorsed Freddie Aguilar as senator saying that “He is one exemplary guy, Tulungan natin si Freddie.”
In a show of support, Duterte even raised Aguilar’s hand. After delivering his speech for the celebration, the President took the microphone to complement the singer. However, President Rodrigo Duterte has yet to respond to Ka Freddie Aguilar’s comment in this matter.
