Kapuso actor Edgar Allan Guzman shared details about his relationship with actress Shaira Diaz, adding that they’re past the “selosan” stage.
In a press conference, Guzman admitted that he felt jealous early on in his relationship with Diaz. However, Guzman clarified that they’re past that stage of their relationship.
“Yes, normal naman yung. Lahat tayo nagseselos. Kung minsan wala sa lugar, pero after that naman matuto ka sa ganon. Kami galing kami doon, di ko idedeny yun. Pero still asan kami ngayon andito pa rin. Nagiintindihan pa rin. Para sa akin, isa yun sa mga pagdadaanan nyo para maging mas malakas kayo. And maging mas malaki yung trust nyo sa isa’t isa.”
The Kapuso actor won the Best Supporting Actor Award for the film Coming Home at the fourth Entertainment Editors’ Choice awards (EDDYS), Sunday, April 4.
During his acceptance speech, Guzman dedicated his win to his family and his girlfriend, Shaira Diaz.
Guzman told reporters that he felt relieved now that he can openly dedicate his award to Diaz.
“Ang sarap sa pakiramdam na idedicate yung award sa kanya this time ng walang pag-aalinlangan, wala akong iisipin na iilagan or something.”
He also added that Diaz is one of his inspirations in his career as an actor.
“Ako naman totoo naman yun eh, lahat naman ng ginagawa ko, kasama sya. Isa sya sa mga inspirasyon ko. Kasi napakabuting tao nya sa akin.”
As for Diaz’s love team with Ruru Madrid, Guzman said that he supports his girlfriend.
“Sa kanya naman, sa career nya, with Ruru, yung love team nila, sa akin support ako. Naka-support ako sa kanila.”
He also added that they try and separate their careers from their relationship.
“Sa amin naman po, when it comes to sa pansarili naming love life, sa trabaho nilalayo po namin.”
As for their social media activity, Guzman said that they only post their photos on occasion because he respects Diaz, adding that he does not want to affect his girlfriend’s career.
“When it comes to sa mga post naman po, bihira lang kaming magpost, ng sarili namin. Magpo-post lang kami kung may okasyon man. Hindi gaya ng iba na every week, every day, nagpo-post, so kami pag may okasyon lang po. Kasi nga nirerespeto ko yung trabaho nya.
“Ayaw kong makasira, ayaw kong maging dahilan dun sa pagkatamlay nung career nya.”
Guzman and Diaz have been together for eight years. The couple met in TV5’s Artista Academy. Then, they made their relationship official back in 2013.
