The second season of the highly lauded Filipino Boys’ Love (BL) series “Gameboys” has started shooting, and it appears that there are more groundbreaking pasabogs that viewers should look forward to!
In the interview of Gameboys in 2WAD, Directors Jun Lana and Perci Intalan teased what fans and viewers should look forward to on Gameboys’ Book 2.
“Kakaiba!!” This is what Direk Jun Lana giddily revealed in the interview. He even seems to hold back on what he really wants to say and is very careful of the ‘pasabogs’ that he reveals,
According to Direk Lana, he also narrated that what fans are expecting is different from what would they deliver to their audiences.
“Yung mga ineexpect nila na akala nila yun lang ang gagawin namin basta magugulat sila. I think si Percy will be making the announcement soon,” Lana said.
Direk Jun also hinted that the Gameboys 2 trailer would be very different from what he said ‘ibang gameboys ang mapapanood nila.’
“May mga inaayos kame right now eh, we saw the trailer and kapag napanood nila ‘yung trailer makikita nila. Kase, I think everybody thinks na it’s just season 2, that it’s going to follow the tone ‘yung feel ng Gameboy 1, I extend lang namin, but I think they’ll be surprised sa direction,” he said.
As Direk Perci jumped in, he recalled how Gameboys started, sharing how the simple Boys Love Series became a hit and loved by many.
“Nung Gameboys 1 parang suntok sa buwan, pangarap na bituin na lumabas sa Netflix but for some reason, it fell into place at nangyari siya may mga inaayos ako ngayon hindi ko pa rin masasabi kung ano ‘yun.”
Recently, Gameboys even won LionhearTV’s RAWR Awards 2020 in the category of the Favorite Digital Series of the Year. Thus, Direk Perci urged everyone to spread ‘good vibes’ so that their plan will work.
“But we need all the good vibes kase pag nakuha to it’s going to make it even bigger sobrang matututwa ang fans kase something wouldn’t be possible without everything falling into place ikakatutuwa ‘yun ng fans ‘yun for sure,” Direk Perci shared.
Lastly, Direk Perci revealed that this pasabog will be the very first ever and it will be ‘groundbreaking’ when it will be revealed, but what could it be? Moreover, the Direk hopes that fans, viewers will still continue to support the said series.
“Super-duper first groundbreaking naniniwala talaga ako na when something is meant to happen things start falling into places naturally etong bagay na ‘to dumating rin ‘di ko ‘to hinihingi biglang nagkaroon ng paraan for some reason.”
Although no release date has been revealed as of yet, fans can’t help but be excited about the release of this well-crafted love story with queer representation.
Additionally, a film adaptation of the global smash hit series is in the works. For the time being, fans can catch up on the first season of “Gameboys” via Netflix or YouTube.
