Bayani Agbayani reacted to celebrities who initiated Community Pantries to help Filipinos amid the pandemic and lockdowns.
In a media conference for Agbayani’s contract signing with Viva Artist Agency, he said he favors the initiatives of celebrities to help Filipinos through community pantries. However, he added a piece of advice to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Then, Agbayani said that celebrities can coordinate with the local government to ensure order and safety during the community pantries.
So gawan natin ng magandang plano. Makipagcoordinate po tayo gobyerno.”
Many celebrities have initiated their respective community pantries to aid Filipinos amid the pandemic and lockdowns.
One of these celebrities is the actress Angel Locsin. She organized her community pantry for Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City, last April 23 for her 36th birthday. However, an incident happened wherein a 67-year-old senior citizen named Rolando Dela Cruz fainted in the long queue and died upon arriving at East Avenue Medical Center.Â
The family of Dela Cruz expressed that they do not blame Locsin for what happened and thanked the actress for helping their family with hospitalization and burial.
