Young female singer Anji Salvacion joined ABS-CBN’s Idol Philippines in 2019 in the hopes of finding her missing father.
During the auditions, Salvacion hoped that the singing competition would be her bridge to find her father who has been missing for almost 10 years now.
“Kasi baka ito po yung tulay para makita ko ulit yung daddy ko. He’s been missing for eight years,” shared then 16-year-old Anji.
During the virtual press conference for The Squad Plus where Anji is one of its newest members, the 18-year-old singer from Siargao Island got emotional after she was asked about the progress in her search for her dad.
Fighting back her tears, she revealed that up to this point, there is still no development about the whereabouts of her father.
“Not even one step. Didn’t even hear anything from him. Still zero until now.”
She again got emotional after she shared how she is, after the competition.
“After kasi ng Idols, it was the lowest point of my life where I have been so low. That I couldn’t even dare to go up na. I couldn’t even eat because of the stress.”
Even if she underwent such a struggle, she learned how to love herself even more.
“But the lesson that I have learned is self-love talaga.
“Love yourself more and more. Never let what people say to get through your head. Just stay on the ground.”
And now, after two years since joining the contest, Salvacion has come a long way despite not winning Idol Philippines.
Today, she is part of The Squad Plus.
With that, the singer believes that even if she did not win in Idol Philippines, it is her time to be recognized.
“All I could say na every people have their right timing. That’s all I could say. That if you pray what you really desire, I believe God will grant your wishes especially what your heart really desires.
“Naniniwala talaga ako sa right timing, right place, and everything,” she said.
Meanwhile, as Anji enters the showbiz industry, being an artist comes with intrigues. However, the singer is ready to face any controversy that might come along in her career.
“I think yes. Kasi I’ve been through a lot. and if ever na maintriga ako, bashing, or anything, it’s okay lang.”
