Actress-Philanthropist Angel Locsin proved again that she is deserving to be dubbed as a real-life superhero as she continues to do acts of service for the Filipino people.
Recently, in celebration of her 36th birthday (April 23), she organized a community pantry in her locality despite the existing risk of red-tagging.
Citizens of Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City, swarmed the community pantry that Locsin organized.
The idea of a community pantry involves creating a food bank that is open to all community members. People can take as much as they need and give as much as they can.

Despite her efforts in organizing the charitable event, the situation turned into a horrible experience, especially to the late Rolando Dela Cruz, a 67-year-old man who fainted while standing in line to receive goods. He was rushed to East Avenue Medical Center but arrived dead.
Some Netizens blamed the actress for her failure to organize the event well, which they claimed led to the death of a senior citizen.
However, Dela Cruz’s daughter Jenifer Fosana assured that their family does not hold anything bad against Locsin. They did not blame the actress for the tragedy that fell on their father.
In an interview with ABS-CBN, Fosana mentioned that even though they grieve for the death of Dela Cruz, they do not blame anyone for his death.
“Masakit pero wala naman may gusto na may ganito, hindi naman kami naninisi ng ibang tao kasi hindi naman nila ito ginusto,” she said.
Angel Locsin already gave her condolences to the bereaved family and expressed her apology for the death of Dela Cruz.
She said that she owes the forgiveness of the Dela Cruz family.
sa tingin ko, tama lang po na sa akin ninyo na marinig na totoo po ang balita na may inatake at namatay habang nasa pila…

Meanwhile, celebrities and Netizens showed their support for Locsin as they defended her from bashers who blamed her for the death of Rolando Dela Cruz.
Angel Locsin is known for her charity works. She earned the recognition of the Filipino people as the actress has been present in extending her help, especially during calamities.
She has offered, donated relief goods to the affected families of Typhoon Ondoy (2009), Typhoon Yolanda (2013), the Marawi siege in 2017, and the Taal volcano eruption in 2020.
She also stood in the front lines during the shutdown of the ABS-CBN network, where she encouraged her fellow Kapamilya artists to speak up.
She helped in the fight against the COVID-19 by raising over 11 million pesos with her #UniTENTweStandPH, which aims to set up tents in overcrowded hospitals, donating P1 million to Baguio City for its procurement of COVID-19 vaccines, launching the “Shop and Share” project to raise funds for COVID-19 test kits, and many more.
