Award-winning actor Edgar Allan Guzman reacted to GMA Network’s support, saying it reflected his loyalty as a Kapuso.
“Siguro para sa akin, nagrerepresent lang nun is yung pagiging loyal Kapuso ko. Mahal ko yung network sa lahat ng aspeto nanjan ako, nakasuporta ako para sa kanila. Every project na binibigay nila sa akin is, 101% ng trabaho ko, is binibigay ko.”
As for his EDDY’s Best Supporting Actor win for Coming Home, Guzman said that he didn’t expect the award, adding that he attended the event to thank the award-giving body.
“Unexpected yung pagkapanalo talaga. Hindi ko ini-expect. Pumunta ako sa awards night kasi yun yung way of saying thank you ko sa Eddys for recognizing my talent, yung trabaho ko sa ‘Coming Home’.”
He also added that the award motivates him to improve on his craft.
“Ito yung nagsisilbing dahilan kung bakit mas lalo kong pinagbubuti, minamahal yung trabaho ko.”
He also explained that he didn’t expect the award because of the number of talented actors in the movie.
“Para sa akin unexpected yung award kasi hindi ko ine-expect na ganon yung impact sa mga press people sa mga tao nung ginawa ko dun sa Coming Home.
“Andami namin doon eh, family kami, si Martin Del Rosario, si Miss Sylvia nandun. Para sa akin hindi ako nakikipagkumpetensya sa kanila. Kumbaga ginawa ko lang yung trabaho ko and then after that hindi ko inexpect na sana manominate, sana manalo.”
Guzman recounted that his family and his girlfriend, Shaira Diaz congratulated him after his win.
“Yung family ko, after ng awards night, tsaka ko lang sila tinawagan. Nag-video call kami. Ayun tuwang tuwa yung mommy ko. During awards night, tumatawag sya, akala nya siguro tapos na. So sobrang pagka-excite nya na mai-congratulate ako.
“Pero after naman tinawagan ko sila, kinausap ko sila, nagcongratulate naman sila sa akin. Then the rest, ayun si Shaira nakausap ko din right after the awards night.”
Kapuso actor Edgar Allan Guzman won the Best Supporting Actor Award for the film Coming Home at the fourth Entertainment Editors’ Choice awards (EDDYS), Sunday, April 4. During his acceptance speech, Guzman dedicated his win to his family and his girlfriend, Shaira Diaz.
GMA Network has already lined up Guzman’s projects, such as Agimat ng Agila and Heartful Cafe.
