Other ABS-CBN programs to air on TV5 are generating more speculations and expectations from loyal Kapamilya viewers.
This came after the country’s longest-running Sunday musical variety show ASAP Natin ‘To, and FPJ: Da King movie block made its historic broadcast on the Kapatid network on January 24.
On March 8, four ABS-CBN primetime shows also started airing on TV5 as a function of two networks’ ongoing collaboration with Cignal.
The four well-loved primetime programs included “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” “Ang Sa Iyo ay Akin,” “Walang Hanggang Paalam,” and “Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Connect.”
People have questioned other Kapamilya shows, such as Magandang Buhay, to follow on TV5 after the successful airing of the said shows.
Karla Estrada, Jolina Magdangal, and Melai Cantiveros, hosts of the morning show “Magandang Buhay,” also appeared on the historic January 24 episode of ASAP Natin ‘To.
Fans immediately assumed that this was an indication that the show would also be shown on TV5 soon.
But according to TV5 Network Inc. and Cignal TV Chairman, Manny V. Pangilinan, it’s too soon to say.
MVP earlier said that there are still many factors to consider before a more expansive partnership between two networks.
“Hence too early to give a picture,” said Pangilinan.
Magandang Buhay could potentially replace its network counterpart Chika, Besh!, which ended last January due to unrenewed contact with the network.
Just like the millions of Kapamilya fans, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, the country’s Asia’s Songbird, also expressed her hope that other big ABS-CBN programs to feature on TV5 soon.
She mentioned that, as far as she was aware, the ASAP and FPJ movies were just the beginning and that other shows would follow.
“Every Sunday na ‘yan and I think it will start lang with ASAP and then the FPJ movies, eventually will have (It’s) Showtime, of course, hopefully,” she said during the virtual media conference for her Freedom concert.
“And then, eventually some of the soaps, eventually magkakaroon din ng Magandang Buhay. So, ganun,” the Songbird revealed.
She added, “Kasi nag-uumpisa pa lang tayo sa ASAP Natin ‘To, naka-mirror pa lang siya sa TV5. But more are coming. There’s more to come. So, abangan lang natin ‘yan. It’s very exciting.”
