Considering the sharp climb of daily recorded cases in the Philippines, comedienne-actress Pokwang is one of those celebrities who throw shades at this current government.
Pokwang is disappointed with the surge of cases, pointing out that it has been a year since the lockdown. She advised everyone to stay at home and avoid going to gimmicks to help control the spread.

On March 20, the country recorded 7,999 new cases within 24 hours. Pokwang then compared the number of cases to promos in department stores, but this should be the promo that we should not buy!

She also quipped at the recent implementation of General Community Quarantine (GCQ) within the Metro Manila-Rizal-Bulacan-Cavite-Laguna ‘bubble’, which they called ‘NCR Plus.’

In reply to this post, a troll commented, “Mag law abiding citizen ka na lang!!! Para makatulog ka sa sambayanan!”.
Such comment triggered Pokwang and slammed the troll, pointing out that the taxes she is paying as an artist help the rest of his fellow countrymen.

She also pointed out that a law-abiding citizen is different from a foolish follower of the current Administration.

With the non-renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise during the pandemic, compelled to leave her home network, Pokwant as a breadwinner–has to work to sustain her family’s needs.
She also wanted to provide medication to her mother why she continued working amid the pandemic. Sadly, her mother passed away in October.
Pokwang faced a lot of struggles personally but, these did not stop her from helping other people. Together with her husband Lee O’Brian, Pokwang donated relief goods to some people affected by the pandemic.
Currently, Pokwang works with TV5. She hosts Fill in the Bank with Jose Manalo and previously hosted Chika, BESH with Pauleen Luna and Ria Atayde.
