MANILA, Philippines, March 2021 – PayMaya, the digital financial services leader in the Philippines, hosted the country’s first-ever esports corporate invitational of 2021. Billed as the “Weeknight Showdown: BPO Invitational,” the two-day competition was an inter-company esports tournament for the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry that featured employees from eight companies, namely AXA Insurance, Conduent, TELUS, Startek, Cognizant, TaskUs, Sutherland, and Inspiro. Players competed in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, one of the most popular mobile games in the country with over 100 million registered users and 25 million monthly active users.

Sutherland Clark MMR Destroyer was declared champion of the Weeknight Showdown: BPO Invitational. The event was scheduled last March 6-7, 2021. The Tournament was presented by PayMaya, in partnership with OPPO and Popeyes, and with special participation of Kopiko 78.

“This is just the first in a series of esports tournaments that we are supporting, and we are happy to have kicked it off especially for the BPO industry. At PayMaya, we are elevating the Filipino gaming experience by making it easier for gamers to access their beloved titles and conveniently purchase gaming credits via the PayMaya app,” shares Mark Jason Dee, Head of Growth Marketing and Partnerships, PayMaya Philippines.

The Tournament gave contestants the full professional player experience, including the presence of tournament marshals, the broadcast of the games online, and championship prizes for all participating companies. Up for grabs were cash incentives, OPPO phones, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang diamonds, and Kopiko 78 ready-to-drink packs.

“Together with our partners OPPO, Popeyes, and Kopiko, we are excited to have hosted a first-of-its-kind tournament experience for gaming fans around the country as we solidify our support for esports in the country. We look forward to welcoming more aspiring gamers as they look to flex their skillset and bring pride to their respective teams,” adds Dee.

Gamers can now use PayMaya to top-up on Codashop using only their mobile number in the Codashop website or by purchasing the direct top-ups from the PayMaya app. Game credits are available for titles including Mobile Legends, VALORANT, League of Legends, Rules of Survival, Call of Duty Mobile, and PUBG Mobile. Users can also directly top-up for games like Ragnarok M, Azur Lane, World of Dragon Nest, One Punch Man, Marvel Super War, and Honkai Impact 3, among many others.

Gamers can also use Codashop and PayMaya to purchase credits or vouchers for different gaming platforms, including Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Network, Garena shells, Steam wallet codes, Blizzard balance, and Xbox gift cards.

So get more out of your games with the help of PayMaya! Download the PayMaya app at https://official.paymaya.com/CAK1/425eb133 and register an account to experience the fastest, safest, and most rewarding way to pay for your game purchases. For your gaming needs and more, don’t pay cash. PayMaya!
