In the press conference for I Can See You Season 2: On My Way To You, Director Mark Reyes referenced the upcoming anthology to the popular Disney Plus series, WandaVision.
Director Mark described multiple genres portrayed in the anthology series depicting Raki’s (Shaira Diaz) imagination. He also highlighted the twist and turns of each episode.
“There’s a lot of twist and turns. You think you know what’s happening, but suddenly, oh, it’s different. Then, you think it’s a per episode because of the imagination of Raki, which we follow. You know we have a horror feel in one episode. Then, we have an adventure feel; then, we have a mystery feel in another episode. And then, we have special effects; then, there’s an adventure,” said Director Mark.
Director Mark then pointed out that directors would usually find the script too much, referencing the dish “Chopsuey.”
“So it’s really, when I watched it, any other script that (you’re) given that the first initial reaction with the director is this will look like “Chop suey.” But, this one, I was not even like placing a lot of pressure on the writers. Because, I like it a lot, from day one. And I said, okay, ‘I know where this is coming from that you (really) don’t know, what you are getting into,” said Director Mark.
Director Mark finally referenced the anthology offering to the popular Disney Plus series WandaVision, highlighting the mini teleserye’s depth.
“If I will use a popular reference, it’s like WandaVision. It’s different genres every day. And then, the underlying story is the story of Raki and Jerrick na akala mo mababaw pero ang lalim pala. That’s why there were intense scenes with Shaira and Ruru na talagang, kahapon lang nagtatawanan tayo, nasa kawa kayo nagpapa-cute kayo, ngayon ang bibigat nung eksena. So it’s an interesting series. That’s why we all enjoyed doing it,” said Director Mark.
Kicking off the second season of I Can See You is the anthology series On My Way To You. The anthology series stars Shaira Diaz and Ruru Madrid. Completing the stellar cast are Arra San Agustin, Gil Cuerva, Ashley Rivera, Malou de Guzman, and Richard Yap. Episodes to air on March 22, 2021, on GMA Network.
