MVP’s latest statement is contrary to his previously cautious stand.
In January, MVP tempers Kapamilya supporters’ excitement about the recent partnership between the two networks.
ASAP Natin ‘To and FPJ Da King started airing on TV5 on January 24.
Their entry to the Kapatid network has fueled speculations that more Kapamilya programs will air on the said Network.
However, MVP quelled Netizen’s excitement, saying that there are still many factors to consider for an expanded deal. Thus the public, especially Kapamilyas should not expect in the soonest future.
According to him, it is too early to tell if there will be an expanded deal between the two Networks following the entry of ASAP Natin ‘To and FPJ Da King in the TV5 program line-up.
“Hence too early to give a clear picture,” Pangilinan said.
But on Friday, March 5 almost two months after their initial deal, both ABS-CBN and TV5 announced that the ABS-CBN primetime bida line-up will be simulcast over TV5 starting Mondy, March 8.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, Walang Hanggang Paalam, and PBB Connect will be added to the TV5 primetime line-up from 8 to 10:30 pm, which aimed at reaching a wider audience nationwide.
“We welcome the inclusion of ABS-CBN entertainment shows in our roster of programs. We believe that this content deal will benefit Filipino viewers across the country because of TV5’s extensive coverage,” said Robert P. Galang, Cignal and TV5 president, and CEO.
Following ABS-CBN’s shutdown from the free TV broadcast, the network finds different ways to have its contents continue to reach its loyal viewers.
Aside from lording the digital landscape through their Kapamilya Online Live on Youtube and Facebook, and its cable channel Kapamilya Channel, ABS-CBN originally inked a deal with Zoe Broadcasting for a block time agreement which brought to life the rebranded A2Z Channel which most of the Kapamilya programs are currently showing.
With their aim to reach a wider audience both on analog and digital, the unprecedented collaboration with ABS-CBN and TV5 happened.
And as MVP said, expect great times ahead.
