From a girl who used to scavenge junk in her native Cavite, Lyca Gairanod has quite come a long way, as she shared another personal milestone on social media.
Gairanod uploaded a photo on Instagram where she proudly posed with her first big purchase, a brand new car.
“Thank God. I got [a] new baby,” the teen singer simply wrote on the caption.
The 16-year-old “The Voice Kids” alumna is now a proud car owner.

In the comment section, Gairanod’s followers congratulated her on the new achievement.
Gairanod grew up in Tanza, Cavite, where her father worked as a fisherman, and her mother scavenged for used bottles and old newspapers to make ends meet.
She gained national attention after winning the first season of “The Voice Kids” in 2014, where she was mentored by Sarah Geronimo.
Gairanod, dubbed as the ‘Young Superstar,” received one million pesos in cash, a one-year recording contract from MCA Universal, a Camella Homes house and lot, a home appliances showcase, a musical instrument showcase, and a one million pesos trust fund.
The young singer has broadened her horizons since then, starring in films such as “Hawak Kamay” and “Maalaala Mo Kaya“, as well as debuting as a solo recording artist as part of her “The Voice” prize.
She was also part of the 2017 season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar: Kids.”
Accordingly, Gairanod is set to release new music and feature in new acting projects, after signing with Viva Artists Agency in November 2020.
She added that it was the Popstar Royalty herself who inspired her to join Viva.
The 16-year-old Gairanod has a Youtube channel with over 1 million subscribers and is transparent about her humble beginnings, including giving fans a tour of her former home in the province.
