Kelvin Miranda of The Lost Recipe is one of the Philippines’ most promising young actors because of his looks and demeanor.
Thus, the up-and-coming actor has drawn comparisons to stars such as Alden Richards, James Reid, and Daniel Padilla but what are his thoughts about this?
In the media conference of The Lost Recipe, the actor shared that he somehow hopes that people will know him not just for having a look-alike but for his own name.
But he doesn’t deny that the comparisons that he gets from stars like Alden Richards, James Reid, and Daniel Padilla makes him very happy.
“Minsan po compliment siya, nakakatuwa na hinahalintulad ka sa gwapings na binabaggit so parang, teka lang, gwapo rin pala ako,” said Kelvin.
He is grateful for the compliments that he gets when he’s compared with big actors, but in this industry, Kelvin knows that one must be able to build their own name.
In the interview, Kelvin also shared that he almost lost hope as an actor during the pandemic. He even thought about returning to school.
Tracking back, Miranda auditioned for Star Magic and passed the initial screenings last 2017 but was later dropped by management due to absences.
His absences were attributed to his introversion, making it impossible for him to seek a career in the entertainment industry.
But in June of that year, he signed a contract with GMA Artist Center, the network’s talent agency, with the help of his manager.
With what has transpired in 2020, Kelvin shared how grateful he is for the opportunity that he was given in The Lost Recipe, not just a supporting role but the opportunity to be the lead actor.
“Di maganda ‘yung dating sa akin last year but naging blessing sa akin nung pumasok sa akin ‘yung The Lost Recipe.
After becoming the lead actor of The Lost Recipe, Kelvin Miranda recently bagged the Best Young Actor award on the 7th Urduja Heritage Film Awards.
To date, Kelvin Miranda doesn’t mind if he will ever return to a supporting role as long as he is allowed to explore his passion and talents as an actor.
The Lost Recipe is currently airing on GTV its final week. It was also a constant subject in the top trend during Twitter Philippines’ first three days of broadcasting. The Lost Formula increased ratings not only for GNTV’s primetime block but also for the Top 20 Urban Phils in general (based on Nielsen NUTAM overnight data).
