Social media sensation Ivana Alawi amazed netizens and sent them to tears with her latest YouTube vlog content.
Ivana, who has over 11 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, came up with yet another heartwarming “prank”. This time on random people on the streets.
The 24-year-old Kapamilya star disguised as a homeless person as part of her prank.
“Maghahanap tayo ng mga taong may mabubuting puso. Marami pa rin sa atin ang mababait, marami pa rin sa atin ang tumutulong sa ating mga kapwa. I will find you and I will reward you,” she said in her vlog released March 14.
She walked around Metro Manila and begged money from people on the street with her body smeared with dirt and dressed in raggedy clothes.
She was also holding a piece of cart box with a message, “Tulong lang po pamasahe para makauwi na ako sa Baguio pls po.”
‘Inday’, the character she developed for the vlog, was stuck in Manila and needed money to get back to Baguio. Ivana matched every peso given to Inday by strangers on the street with P1000 cash.
As she walked by, at least ten people offered her money and food. These good Samaritans were handed out with P2,000, P5,000, others with P10,000 each, and some with P20,000 by the artist-vlogger.
But it was her last “prank” on Joselito Martinez, a 58-year-old Kutsinta vendor, that moved Ivana the most and brought her to tears.
As they talked, he gave her P20, kutsinta, and even offered her to buy a soda or mineral water.
Ivana was so moved by the old man’s warm personality that she couldn’t help but shed tears as she handed him P20,000.
It only proved that those who are also in need are the ones who are willing to help others.
The old man cried as well because he did not expect to receive such an amount for merely helping someone.
Because of Ivana’s kindness, he said he can now buy a bicycle for his peddling.
“Tingnan mo naman ‘yung mga katulad ni tatay, sobrang bait. Kahit ‘di naman siya mayaman, tutulong pa rin. Di ba ganyan ang mga Pinoy,” said Ivana.
“Lalo akong na-inspire to become a better person to help other people because people like tatay, they really deserve it. First time kong maka-experience ng gano’n, ‘yung kukwentuhan ako tungkol sa life nila. Sobrang sarap lang.”

Alawi believed in the epigram, “What goes around comes around.”
She lived by this, “In life kapag nagbigay ka sa mga taong nangangailangan, laging binabalik ni Lord ‘yun.”
She also mentioned she wanted to spend at least a few hours in the less fortunate’s shoes and encouraged others to help those in need.
