Amid the resurgence in the number of COVID-19 victims in the country, Ion Perez decided to sacrifice one of the things he used to do regularly. The model-turned TV host has stopped hitting the gym to ensure he and the love of his life, Vice Ganda, would not get sick with the COVID-19 virus.
Vice made Ion’s effort public in the recent episode of It’s Showtime! on Tuesday, March 16.
According to the comedian-host, Ion did it to protect his safety following the Quezon City government order to re-closure of gyms due to the alarming increase of COVID-19 cases.
“Sarap sa bahay, ‘di ba?” Vice asked Ion.
Ion agreed and smiled as he prepared to tell the viewers why he chose to do so.
Vice continued, “Iyon ang isa-sacrifice niya. Sabi niya isa-sacrifice ko muna ang gym for you. For my safety.”
Again, Vice reminded the ‘madlang people’ to follow all safety and health protocols.
He further stressed that no one is exempted from the health measures implemented by the national government.
“Let’s practice safety [measures] and follow protocols po. Puro chika ng chika e. Ayan tuloy. Hindi siya [virus] namimili ng posisyon sa buhay,” the 44-year-old TV host-comedian said.
Vice first met Ion in an episode of Gandang Gabi Vice in October 2017, when the viral “Gigil Kid” Carlo Mendoza noticed Ion in the audience and invited him to the stage.
In September 2018, Ion started working as ‘Kuya Escort’ in a segment of It’s Showtime! the Miss Q&A. During those times, the two have been sharing kilig moments ever since.
People speculated if they were in a relationship as their interactions gained the approval of Madlang people.
Rumors persisted until Vice unveiled his more than a year relationship with Ion during the 10th anniversary special of It’s Showtime!–the “Magpasikat” portion in October 2019.
Last October 2020, Vice and Ion celebrated their second anniversary as a couple at an amusement park in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
The Phenomenal Box-office Star also supported Ion on his first leading man role in the upcoming film, Kaka. He is paired with sexy star and rising Viva artist Sunshine Guimary in the adult-comedy film.
Meanwhile, aside from It’s Showtime! Vice Ganda is also working on his YouTube vlogs.
