The “Me & Mrs. Cruz” star Ina Raymundo who refrained from doing sexy roles, still has the looks that men could die for.
After 26 years of being a sexy star, Raymundo admitted that she still gets offers to do such a role. She stated that she wants to take a break from portraying characters that were far from what she was really known for.
“Nung 90s puro sexy lang talaga. Walang lalim, walang layer. Isang layer lang, kundi magpasexy. But this time, 26 years later, may mga offers na ganun. And I don’t mind accepting it because it is fun. Since for the past five years, ‘yung mga roles ko, ‘yun nga inaapi, kawawa, mga zombie,” the actress said.
Now that she’s getting offers, Raymundo revealed that she is willing to do such projects as long as she will be challenged with the character she’s about to portray.
“I’m very open to it. Basta syempre may story. Kumbaga may challenge, may layer of pain, of maturity, hugot, lahat. And that for me is a great combination. Na ‘yung character ko exudes sexuality and at the same time merong layer, may maturity,” Raymundo said.
However, the actress who has now five children needs to think of the projects she accepts.
“Syempre kailangan kong isipin ‘yung mga anak ko, ‘yung family ko. Kasi naman nung 90s, let’s admit it, usung-uso talaga ang mga sexy movies na may exploitation na nagaganap,” she said.
Nevertheless, the era of the 21st century was far from what she got used to during the 90s. The amount of sexuality in today’s films was nothing back in the day.
“But this time, no, it’s just the right amount and I’m so happy. Na ganun lang na sakto lang. Na hindi ka pinepressure na gawin mo ‘to, na beyond sa makakaya mo. And for me, that’s very good. And also at this point, kaya ko na ring mag-no. Kumbaga meron na akong wisdom to say no, I can’t do that,” the actress added.
“Me & Mrs. Cruz” is part of the iWantTFC’s Ampalaya Chronicle’s where it tells the story of Eva Cruz (Ina Raymundo) and Caloy (Paulo Angeles), despite having a 23-year age gap, makes one of the deepest connections ever.
With the series she’s about to do, the actress shared her thoughts on age being a factor in love. Raymundo does not believe that mere numbers would affect a relationship for it to work.
“I personally don’t think so. Kasi sa sampung ganun, bihira lang ang mag-wowork. But it does work lalo na kapag nahanap mo ‘yung soulmate mo,” she said.
Raymundo even shared that her ex-boyfriend before meeting her husband was 7 years younger than her. Meanwhile, Raymundo’s husband is 7 years older than her. That is why when it comes to relationships, the actress does not believe that age difference would impact a relationship.
“Yung boyfriend ko bago ko ma-meet ‘yung asawa ko, he was seven years younger than me. And my husband is seven years older than me. And I must say na ‘yung ex-boyfriend ko na ‘yun ay one of my most serious relationships,” she said.
“So for me, pag nahanap mo talaga ‘yung mahal mo sa buhay, it doesn’t matter kung younger siya or older siya. Ang importante ‘yung connection niyo, ‘yung chemistry niyo. So he could be older or younger,” Raymundo added.
“Me & Mrs. Cruz” is directed by Real Florido and is produced by Firestarters Production. The episode stars Kat Galang, Kristof Garcia, Mark Wei, JM Mendoza, Sophie Reyes, Nicki Morena, and Ms. Frances Makil-Ignacio, led by Ina Raymundo and Paulo Angeles.
