ABS-CBN’s ‘Huwag Kang Mangamba’ kicked off last March 22, replacing ‘Ang Iyo Ay Akin’. Since then, the series is getting good ratings compared to its preceded show.
Last Friday, March 19, ‘Ang Iyo Ay Akin’ ended with a 5.5% rating with a daily average of 3-4%, while its rival show in GMA Network, ‘Love of My Life’ finished strongly with 19.7%.
The average rating of ‘Ang Iyo Ay Akin’ was doubled by ‘Huwag Kang Mangamba’ on its debut.
As recorded by AGB Nielsen NUTAM ratings, ‘Huwag Kang Mangamba’ earned 6.0% on its pilot episode (March 22) and 8.2% last March 24. Meanwhile, the launching of I Can See You’s second season, registered a rating of 16.1 % and 15.1% for its pilot and March 24 episode, respectively.
In terms of online reach, ‘Huwag Kang Mangamba’ is greatly ahead of ‘I Can See You.’ The ABS-CBN show has recorded around 800k views for its pilot while its rival garnered more than 80k views.
‘Huwag Kang Mangamba’ top bills young actresses Andrea Brilliantes and Francine Diaz. The pilot episode introduced the family background of the characters. Mira (Andrea), a blind orphan, is in search of her mother while Joy (Francine) is a rebellious child that ran away from their house. The pilot episode ended with a car crash, involving Mira and Joy.
The inspirational series airs on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and TV5. Though we cannot avoid the fact that the reach of ABS-CBN is considerably limited, the network is pushing to strengthen its online presence. Possibly, they will have digital push via iFlix and iWantTFC.
