Recently, GMA Network Films President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdez cleared that the creation of GTV is not just for the Kapuso artists.
“Actually, GTV is open to all artists, not just Kapuso artists. It means that we didn’t create GTV just to be an outlet for artists from GMA and from our artist center,” said Gozon-Valdez.
She said that the sister channel of GMA Network is open to all, regardless of network, production houses, or managers.
“We also are open to casting artists from all. All managers, all production houses. So in the future, hopefully, you’ll be seeing more of these other artists on GTV,” she added.
With this statement from Gozon-Valdez, Kapuso actor Yasser Marta shared his thoughts about the decision of GMA Network on opening its doors to other talents.
In an interview with LionhearTV, Marta, who will be playing alongside ABS-CBN’s talent Alex Diaz in the rom-com series of GTV titled, “My Fantastic Pag-Ibig”, the actor said that he focuses on the role given to him and not the decision of the management to accept talents from other networks.
“Very ako sa craft talaga eh, kung ano ‘yung binigay na script sakin. Kung ano ‘yung role ko, mas dun ko talaga pinag-iigihan. Hindi ko na iniisip kung ano bang magiging effect nito sa akin or kung ano ang iisipin ng mga tao. Hindi ko iniisip ‘yun eh. Mas nagfofocus talaga ako kung ano ‘yung binigay sa akin na goal,” explained Marta.
According to Marta, he was impressed by the Kapuso Network in rebranding GNTV to GTV. It’s because it offers fresh concepts with diverse talents from the Kapuso networks, both homegrown and acquired.
“Sobrang gandang step din ‘yun ng GMA. Kasi dito mas nasho-showcase talaga ‘yung iba-ibang concept. Bago sa mata, bago sa isip ng tao, bago sa industriya. So napakaganda and sobrang thankful pa rin. Ang ganda rin ng GTV. Napapanuod ko rin ‘yan,” said the actor.
And now that he will play with Diaz, Marta only has high praises for his co-actor.
“Si Alex naman sobrang energetic nitong lalaking ‘to. Napakataas ng energy, napakasaya niya kasama. Sobra kaming nag-enjoy.” praised the actor.
The actor also recalled how dedicated and professional his co-actor was. Apparently, during their taping in Laiya, Batangas, in the wee hours of the night, Diaz shot scenes at 2 or 3 in the morning without any complaints.
“Sobrang professional din ni Alex. Kasi nagshu-shoot kami sa Batangas, sa Laiya. Well sya sireno talaga siya. Kailangan niyang lumangoy kahit alas dos ng madaling araw, alas tres na andun pa rin siya sa dagat nakalublob. So bilib ako sa kanya. Napakagaling at walang reklamong artista,” recalled Marta.
