After the highly publicized announcement of Gerald Anderson’s romantic relationship with Julia Barretto, Netizens expressed mixed opinions about the much-talked-about controversy on social media.
The two were the center of intrigues and speculations after Gerald allegedly ghosted his ex-girlfriend Bea Alonzo in 2019.
Since they first confirmed the real-score of their relationship, Anderson and his girlfriend Barretto faced bullying.
He said that he is sometimes perplexed on how Netizen can say such things about other people, including celebrities.
Gerald is no longer angry with bashers on social media, however, he felt more shocked by the maliciousness of the comments about him.
By keeping a perspective, the Kapamilya actor said he managed to compose himself from the stress (of the negative comments) about his personal life.
How did the actor gain this perspective?
The young actor explained, “Maraming tao diyan na mas malala, nangungurakot. So pag ganu’n yung iniisip mo, mababawasan, eh.
“Dati, to be honest (apektado ako), pero hindi pikon.
Gerald added, “Ang lala talaga ng platform ng social media for people to put siguro yung frustrations nila sa buhay.
At this point in his life, he said he was able to move forward with the truth and he has learned to not take it all.
“But I’ve come to a point na parang kahit anong gagawin ko, bakit ko i-si-stress yung sarili ko sa opinyon ng taong yan? Mai-stress din ako. So you have to move on and just not take anything personally,” he said.
Anderson also stressed that he is happy with his life now, and he believed that he does not have to please everyone just to like him. For him, life needs to go on.
“I’m just trying to live life and provide for my family, enjoy life. So kapag may perspective ka, malalagpasan mo naman but things also happen sa buhay mo for a reason.
“And you have to kumbaga realize kung ano yun, san ka rin nagkamali and move on, move forward with your life,” explained Gerald.
As of the writing, the actor chose to focus on his business and his acting career with an upcoming show, Init Sa Magdamag on ABS-CBN.
