Kapamilya star Gerald Anderson shared how he manages to last in the industry for a long time. He said that he highly set the standard for himself to push his capabilities as an artist.
Anderson has been in the industry for 14 years since he started in 2006.
Apart from his acting talent and acting skills, he gives credit to his ‘stamina’ as his staying power in the local entertainment industry.
“I think stamina rin ‘yung labanan. Hindi lang ‘yan pagalingan umarte or talent mo sa buhay. It takes stamina. Sa tingin ko ‘yun ‘yung nakikita din nila,.
“Ever since naman mataas na ‘yung standards ko sa sarili ko. No one will ever push me more than I push myself. Kumbaga una pagdating sa trabaho ko,.
He explained that he always needs to improve especially since the showbiz industry has new protocols with the shooting due to the pandemic.
“Sabi ko nga may bagong show na ipapalabas and dahil sa bagong protocols sa taping, mas mahirap na ‘yung taping namin ngayon dahil wala ng uwian. We’re there for almost one month, three weeks. So I always have to give my best no matter what I do. And ganun din sa personal life ko. I’m just improving.”
The 32-year-old star of Init sa Magdamag that is set to air in April on Kapamilya Channel and A2Z. The series will also star JM de Guzman and Yam Concepcion.
Anderson is best known for his lead roles in TV series such as Sana Maulit Muli (2007), My Girl (2008), Tayong Dalawa (2009), and Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo (2010).
He also portrayed a mentally-challenged young man in Budoy (2011–2012). He was a part of the TV adaptation of the iconic comics character Fredo in Mars Ravelo’s Dyesebel (2014), the Fantasy drama, Nathaniel (2015), and the Cannes Film Festival Director’s Fortnight entry On The Job (2013).
His latest film was in 2019 called Between Maybes in which he co-starred with his current love, Julia Barretto.
