Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee has been tired of the government’s lies about the country doing an “incredible” job against Covid-19.
In his twitter account, he posted a graph from the IBON Foundation showing how some countries performed after a year amid the pandemic.
Based on the data presented by the organization, the Philippines’ Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has shrunk to -9.5%. This is due to the excessive lockdowns and quarantines while having a weak pandemic response.
Furthermore, the number of unemployed and underemployed Filipinos has reached 10.5 million by the start of January 2021, showing that more families are succumbing to hunger and poverty. Not only that, but the Philippines also lost P1.4 trillion last year with an average loss of P4.2 billion per day.
As a result, the country has become the worst-performing country in Southeast Asia.
With this data shown by IBON, the actor has emphasized that the Duterte Administration will have no means to cover such huge failure from the public and from the rest of the world.
It’s been over a year since coronavirus has affected the lives of Filipinos. The Duterte Administration has imposed one of the longest lockdowns last 2020 while managing other priorities such as the denial of the ABS-CBN franchise and its shut down, costing the jobs of over 11,000 of its employees.
Due to the continuous surge of positive cases in the country, the Administration has managed to only make matters worst by making an economic collapse.
Still, the current government under Duterte, with its Spokesperson Harry Roque, belies the reality that the Philippines did not contain the coronavirus. In fact, according to Roque, the country did an “excellent” job in containing the spread of the virus.
However, the number of cases in the country has continued to rise, almost reaching 650k.
No amount of lies can cover this today and in history… 🐢 pic.twitter.com/K2MjO8Ox6P

Enchong recently called out historians to note how Pres. Duterte has performed amid this global pandemic.
The actor showed a timeline of the obvious incompetencies and injustices that the government has done.
The government has blamed the public for not obeying health protocols. And it has contributed to the increase in positive cases. Meanwhile, the Administration has shown “compassion” to public officials such as PNP Chief Debold Sinas and Senator Koko Pimentel, who had ‘obvious’ health protocol breaches.
To date, confirmed cases in the Philippines reached 640,984, with 12,887 deaths and 561,530 patients recovered.
