In the media conference for the Viva Films produced horror film Biyernes Santo, Ella recounted her terrifying encounter with sleep paralysis experience during her trip to Busan, South Korea.
Ella said she had recurring sleep paralysis, describing the terrifying feeling when it happens to her.
“I’ve always had sleep paralysis. Alam niyo po ‘yung feeling na nasa kama kayo tapos gising ‘yung mind ninyo. Tapos akala niyo gising din ‘yun mata ninyo,” said Ella.
She then recounted her most terrifying sleep paralysis during her trip to Busan, South Korea. To add to the terror, she was alone when it happened.
“It happened to me one time in Busan, ‘yun po ‘yung pinaka naaalala ko. First night ko na matulog dun, and first time ko na out of the country na ako lang mag-isa,” said Ella.
Afterward, Ella went into the horrific details of her sleep paralysis, in which she saw a man on the edge of her bed screaming at her and being unable to move.
Ella continued with her story, which morphed into a full-blown nightmare. She narrated seeing her friend with an opened third eye in her dream, telling her that the man followed her to the hotel’s lobby she’s staying in.
“Then nagising na po ako,” said Ella.
Finally, she ends her story, noting that it always happens to her whenever she’s tired.
“It happens to me a lot of times, sleep paralysis lalo na kapag pagod,” said Ella.
In addition to her sleep paralysis, Ella also unfolded she’s terrified of dolls and doesn’t want to do films with them.
Ella is a seasoned horror genre actress. She starred in the movie Darkroom and the 2018 film Cry No Fear.
