Gold Squad members Andrea Brillantes and Francine Diaz revealed that they switched up their usual roles from their Kadenang Ginto days.
In the press conference for ABS-CBN Entertainment’s upcoming inspirational teleserye, Huwag Kang Mangamba, Francine highlighted her dream of portraying a Bida-Kontrabida role on-screen and that she felt thankful for the opportunity.
As for Andrea, she revealed requesting a different role from her portrayal of Marga in Kadenang Ginto. She admitted she wants to show her range as an actress and avoid limiting herself in the KontraBida typecast.
Or kung di man mabait, opposite ni Marga.
Show creator Rondel Lindayag revealed that they gave the Kontrabida role to Francine after seeing her depth as an actress.
He also highlighted the collaborative effort between the creators, management, and the young actresses in coming up with the roles.
“At the same time nagkwentuhan din kami with Andrea and Francine eh, na nagustuhan nila ‘yung idea na what if mag-switch sila ng role this time. So collaborative ‘yun.”
“Lahat pinagusapan ‘yun, with sir Deo (Dreamscape Entertainment head) with Francine and Andrea that time. Ayun excited ‘yung dalawa,” said Rondel.
Andrea and Francine, with fellow Gold Squad members Kyle Echarri and Seth Fedelin, stars in the inspirational teleserye, Huwag Kang Mangamba.
