Upon the arrival of the Sinovac Biotech vaccines, which were donated by China, Vice President Robredo appealed to review the said vaccines to ensure the safety of the health workers who will receive antidotes.
Robredo was concerned because the vaccine is not yet recommended by the Health Technology Assessment Council (HTAC). However, the call of Robredo did not sit well with President Duterte. This irked Agot Isidro, one of Duterte’s biggest critics; as she reacted to the ‘mamatay ka na’ statement of Duterte against Robredo.
Duterte slammed the Vice President by claiming that she only wants to come out concerned in the eyes of the people.
“‘Yan ang mahirap sa’yo eh, you want to be relevant. And you know, sometimes you make an idiotic stance, ‘yong mga gano’n na ‘they deserve the best.’ Anak ka ng— bakit ako, I would give them the worst?
“Mamatay ka na, hindi ko iwanan ‘yong mga frontliner, and you do not need really to be redundant about it,” the enraged Duterte spoke.
Robredo believes that if there’s anybody who should ‘go first’ to undergoing the vaccine shot, it is Duterte.
Agot also fumed over the misogynistic tirades of the President.
Duterte’s low blow against Robredo is not the first time that he called out Robredo.
To recall, during the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses, the ‘#NasaanAngPangulo’ trended online. Duterte got infuriated over the trend and blamed Robredo for allegedly initiating it.
However, upon checking Robredo’s tweets, there is no trace of any comments that may lead to the President’s allegations.
Until now, he keeps on politicizing the pandemic and Robredo’s actions as a working VP.
