In the hopes of expanding its reach on free TV, ABS-CBN, in partnership with the TV5, recently announced that some of its Kapamilya shows are to air on the latter network and one of which is the hit drama series–Ang Sa Iyo ay Akin. It will air its last two weeks on the Kapatid network.
Based on a Push ABS-CBN article, Iza Calzado expressed her happiness for their show with other Kapamilya shows–will make their return on free television.
“The shows of ABS-CBN being granted access to what we had before. When you are robbed of something and that is taken from you, the minute that it’s given back to you, you treasure it,” said Calzado during the Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin finale presscon.
“Ito nga in a different form pa, hindi ito ABS-CBN channel 2 di ba? Kahit through channel 5 malaking bagay pa rin ito. Kaya nga siguro gulat na gulat ako kasi I did not see it coming. Kaya talaga yung reaction ko sobrang wow and who would have thought na sa last two weeks namin, mas marami pang makakapanuod nito,” she added.
After the Lopez-owned Network’s downfall in July 2020, due to its denied franchise, ABS-CBN is slowly getting back to its feet as several partnerships and collaboration with other companies open doors to the Kapamilya network.
In October 2020, the Network announced that some shows and movies are coming back to free TV in partnership with the new A2Z channel. It is a block time agreement between the media conglomerate and ZOE Broadcasting Network.
Kapamilya programs: ASAP Natin ‘To and FPJ Da King already premiered on TV5 on January 24, 2021; and simultaneous simulcast on A2Z Channels 11, and three ABS-CBN Cable Channels—Jeepney TV, Metro Channel, and Kapamilya Channel.
Apart from ‘Ang Sa Iyo ay Akin’, Kapamilya primetime programs such as FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Walang Hanggang Paalam,” and “Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Connect” also came to TV5 starting March 8.
Through this arrangement with Cignal and TV5, ABS-CBN Entertainment can bring its programs through TV5’s nationwide reach.
