Wowowin host Willie Revillame recently looked back at his humble beginnings in show business as a Kapuso.
In the episode of Wowowin: Tutok To Win on Monday, February 15, Revillame’s long-time friend and former co-host Randy Santiago appeared on his show.
And because of their reunion, Revillame and Santiago were able to reminisce on their journey together in GMA Network’s former noontime show Lunch Date in 1987.
According to Revillame, he became the ‘sidekick’ of Santiago, who was then famous for his hit songs Babaero and Hindi Magbabago in the mid-80s to early 90s.
“Dito kami nagsimula, sa Lunch Date. Kinuha niya akong sidekick niya,” the Wowowin host recalled.
In 1984, Santiago’s band hired Revillame to be a drummer at their gig in Singapore, which lasted four months. It was the start of their closeness as friends even until now.
After reminiscing, Wowowin host Willie Revillame hinted that a surprise reunion could occur on his program this coming March 3.
“May sorpresa kami sa inyo. Eto ha, sa 3.3., basta may reunion. Abangan niyo ho ‘yan sa 3.3. Kasama sa Shopee,” said Revillame.
The Magandang Tanghali Bayan (MTB) boys Randy Santiago, John Estrada, and Willie Revillame recently reunited at Revillame’s 60th birthday celebration.
The singer-host Santiago took to his Instagram page and was nostalgic about his MTB days. According to Santiago, they make sure to come together for their milestones despite hectic work schedules.
He also posted another photo of them with their mentor and director Edgar ‘Bobot’ Mortiz, where he shared unforgettable memories as main hosts of the variety noontime show, MTB.
Before their reunion, Mortiz, who directed MTB before, already joined Revillame on his game show as the new production head.
