Willie Revillame himself responded to the rumors and denied that actress Maja Salvador, will join him in his GMA Network game show Wowowin as a new co-host.
Speculations on Salvador’s possible co-host stint in Wowowin recently buzzed around after Revillame publicized his invitation to Johnny ‘Mr. M’ Manahan to direct his Kapuso game show.
Rumors surfaced that the actress-singer-dancer would probably follow Mr. M. Salvador considers the former manager of Star Magic and as the former ABS-CBN senior vice-president–as her second father. Rumors were floating that the latter encouraged her to join the Kapatid network.
Currently, Manahan and Salvador became freelancers following their TV5 show Sunday Noontime Live (SNL) termination, which was replaced by ABS-CBN‘s ASAP Natin ‘To.
According to entertainment columnist Ricky Lo via The Philippine Star, Revillame was asked by the Funfare in conformity with the rumors.
The Wowowin host denied the rumors through an SMS, where he said that he knew nothing about it and didn’t need a co-host for his show.
“Hindi totoo. Sino may sabi? Hindi ko alam ‘yan. Baka para mapag-usapan. Sino sumulat?” Revillame said.
“Wala. Hindi ko kailangan ng co-host. It’s a talk show paminsan-minsan with guest co-host,” he added when he was informed about the item that circulated.
“Where does Maja go from here? Definitely not back to ABS-CBN!” Lo wrote in his article.
The actress’s name surfaced following the blind item from an article which hinted about a former Kapamilya actress whose transfer to the Kapuso network was set to ‘almost’ a ‘done deal’. It was rumored that the actress will join former Kapamilya stars Heart Evangelista and Richard Yap in the Kapuso new series, I Left My Heart in Sorsogon.
As of the writing, neither the camp of Salvador nor GMA Network have released any confirmation regarding the rumors.
Meanwhile, the actress-singer-dancer is set to return on the big screen in Mikhail Red‘s upcoming film, Arisaka.
Arisaka is Salvador’s first film with young director Red; but her second time doing a film with Ten17P, after earning the Gawad Urian and the Film Academy of the Philippines best actress awards for the outstanding film, Thelma in 2011.
