In a press conference for the GMA Network’s Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat, seasoned actors John Estrada, Carmina Villarroel, Tanya Garcia-Lapid, Gio Alvarez, and Tanya Gomez revealed how they helped the younger casts of the series.
Gomez said that she talks to the younger actors and helps them when they are struggling.
“Kinakausap namin sila kami ni Gio ano ‘yung pinaka-ayaw ‘nyo na ginagawa, ano ‘yung pinaka-gusto ‘nyo na ginagawa, san kayo nahihirapan,” said Gomez.
For Villarroel, she would help the young actors whenever they ask questions. She tells them stories from her career as an actress.
“If they ask me questions, that is the time I extend help. More of, kasi ako, kapag tumutulong ako sa mga younger stars mas more of kwento, dinadaan ko sa kwento,” said Villarroel.
Villarroel added that she imparts the lessons she learned from the stories she tells.
“From there, kumbaga dinadaan ko sa kwento yung mga experience ko in the past, and then from there, nagi-impart din ako ng mga lessons learned ko para at least ma-guide ko din sila,” said Villarroel.
As for Garcia-Lapid, she highlighted that she shared her experiences with the lead Pauline Mendoza and advised her of what she should expect when helming the series.
“I shared my experiences with Pauline bilang ito nga ‘yung una ‘nyang break, sinabihan lang namin siya ng what she should expect,” said Garcia-Lapid.
She also gave Mendoza tips which she applied during their locked-in filming.
“Binigyan lang namin siya ng konting tips, and ang maganda sa kanya, she was really listening and nakita namin na parang in-apply naman niya yung mga binigay naming tips especially yung mga sinabi ni Kuya John sa kanya,” said Garcia-Lapid.
For Estrada, he highlighted that the young actors are lucky. He pointed out that the seasoned actors on set are generous when it comes to helping them out.
“Masasabi ko lang, sobrang suwerte ng mga batang kasama namin dahil generous kaming mga nakakatandang artista sa kanila,” said Estrada.
Finally, Alvarez said that they would advise young artists who needs their help.
“Para dun sa isang artista na open at accepting, ‘yun ang tamang bigyan ng advice kung kinakailangan nila, pero kung ‘di naman syempre you let that actor be,” said Alvarez.
In a previous interview, Mendoza admitted feeling the pressure in her top-billing role but highlighted that her co-stars help her out. Mendoza, Estrada, Villarroel, Garcia, Alvarez, and Gomez stars in the teleserye, Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat.
The star-studded cast also includes Liezel Lopez, Neil Ryan Sese, Kristoffer Martin, Dave Bornea, Therese Malvar, and Manolo Pedrosa. It will air this February 22, in GMA Afternoon Prime.
