Pinoy Big Brother alumna Vivoree Esclito indirectly reacted to the body-shaming made to her by Its Showtime host Jugs during the recent ‘Hide and Sing’ segment.
In the segment Hide and Sing of Its Showtime, the hosts are asked to guess who is the masked singer by flashing some photos of the singer’s body parts.
In that particular moment, a VTR of a bit hairy arm was flashed to the hosts, and co-host Jugs Jugueta immediately reacted and laughingly said, “Si Vivoree ‘yan!”
Other It’s Showtime hosts holding back their laughter, while It’s Showtime host Karryle Padilla Yuzon reacted that the joke was a ‘hit,’ “Grabe kayo! Hits na yan.”
She then used herself as an example and is reminded that being hairy is just normal.
“Jugs, ako, I’m a very balbon girl also. Ganun lang talaga.”
Jugs then immediately apologized for the insensitive joke, “That was just a joke. I’m sorry.”
The joke didn’t sit well with netizens and most especially with Vivoree Esclito, where she somehow indirectly reacted to Jugs when she posted an Instagram story about body shaming.
Meanwhile, Netizens used Twitter to air their disappointment at the “joke” on ABS CBN’s It’s Showtime.
Twitter users blew up the noontime show where the VTR showed a hairy or “mabalbon” contestant for its Hide and Sing segment.
I'm with this: NO TO BODY SHAMING.
The world is too depressing, yet people are continuing shaming others by weight, height, and for being mabalbon. This Vivoree girl is beautiful. Every girls are beautiful no matter what. Don't make fun on what they have. https://t.co/EoIjhqOzs3

A netizen even recalled a 2016 Tonight With Boy Abunda interview, where Vivoree rose to popularity after her stay in the Pinoy Big Brother Season 7. Vivoree opened up that being Balbon is her greatest insecurity.
“Parang tinutukso nila ako like parang sinasabi nila ‘pinaglihi ka ba ng unggoy?’ Pero I shrug it off and go on with life. Kasi their opinions don’t matter, naman,” she said in the interview.

People will always have negative things to say about others. I hope everyone will be a bit more kind to everybody. Rethink the way we see others. Don't let others feel inferior because of what they do or don't have. We are all made unique. No to body shaming.
